Amazon opens seller tools to outside AI agents, starting with Claude
The beta lets United States merchants check inventory, change prices and edit listings from Anthropic's Claude or Amazon's own Quick assistant.
Amazon said on Wednesday at its Accelerate seller conference in Seattle that it is opening its seller management tools to third-party AI agents, beginning with Anthropic's Claude and Amazon's own Quick assistant. The beta covers Amazon's United States marketplace, with other countries planned.
A plugin lets sellers check inventory, adjust prices and update listings through either agent, according to GeekWire, which reported from the conference. Amazon says setup takes about 60 seconds and no coding. GeekWire's account does not say how many sellers are in the beta, or which protocol the plugin uses.
Mary Beth Westmoreland, Amazon's vice-president of worldwide selling partner experience, told GeekWire that the aim was that sellers "would never have to log into Seller Central. We would just bring it to them where they work."
Amazon also added a canvas feature to its Seller Assistant for visual analysis of a seller's data, and background automations that watch a business and act once the seller approves. The company says the assistant now keeps a memory of a seller's pricing patterns and growth goals.
More integrations will follow, Amazon says, without naming them. It is also giving primary seller accounts a free 12-month Amazon Quick Plus subscription through 31 December 2026, with two co-workers included at no cost. Anthropic has published nothing of its own on the arrangement.
