Father, sons build Zelda‑inspired game with Claude Opus 5.5

Developer Danny Limanseta said he and his sons spent a day building a paintbrush-combat adventure game by describing what they wanted to Anthropic's Opus 5.5.

Developer Danny Limanseta said he and his two sons spent a day building a video game together, according to a post on X. The boys described what they wanted, and Limanseta prompted Anthropic's Claude Opus 5.5 to build it. They chose a "Zelda: Breath of the Wild"-inspired open world.

The result, called Wild Brush, gives its hero a paintbrush weapon with four colors tied to different effects, Limanseta said: red for fire, blue for ice, yellow for bounce and green for vines. The finished game includes two biomes, three dungeons with puzzles, an underground cave, more than 30 enemies and a final boss, according to the post.

Limanseta said the game is playable in a browser, though only on desktop. He said it was not the first game he had vibe-coded, but the most satisfying because his sons were actively co-creating and playing it.

Opus 5.5 launched five days ago. Limanseta's post is among a wave of demos built with the model that have circulated on X in the days since.
