fal opens video extension endpoint for its H3 Max model
The endpoint continues an existing clip from a text prompt, at prices running from $0.05 to $0.32 per generated second.
fal put an extend-video endpoint for H3 Max into service on Thursday. It takes an existing clip and adds a text-guided continuation, with the output length and aspect ratio set by the caller. fal said users can upload up to 15 seconds of video and extend it to 30 while preserving the look and feel of the original.
Pricing runs per generated second and rises with resolution: $0.05 at 480p, $0.08 at 768p, $0.16 at 1080p and $0.32 at 2K, according to the endpoint's page. The price covers the first 4,096 reference tokens, with further tokens at $0.02 per thousand. The endpoint can return either the full extended video or only the new footage.
H3 Max is fal's post-trained version of MiniMax H3. The company says it ranks first for overall quality, prompt understanding and aesthetics against leading video models in human preference evaluations, and that it renders a 5-second clip in under 3 seconds. Those rankings are fal's own, from evaluations it ran.
The example on the endpoint page turns a 15-second source into 25.667 seconds of output. Resolutions run from 480p to 2K. fal said the endpoint supports prompt expansion and that every generation passes through safety moderation. Nobody outside the company appears to have compared the extension against rival video tools yet.
