Gemini app adds Google Wallet as a connected app

Google has added Google Wallet as a Connected App inside the Gemini app, letting users ask about passes and payment information saved to their account, 9to5Google reported. Example queries include finding a boarding pass for a specific flight or pulling up an airline loyalty number, according to the outlet.

The integration also draws on Plaid-powered transaction data already used by the Google Pay app. It lets Gemini summarize spending. It can also suggest budgets from linked financial accounts, 9to5Google said. It cannot make transactions, update accounts or delete connected financial information, the outlet reported.

The feature is rolling out gradually to personal Google accounts in the United States only. Google said in materials cited by 9to5Google that "it might not be available to you just yet."

Users can turn on the feature through the prompt box or the Connected Apps list at gemini.google.com. 9to5Google did not say when it might expand outside the United States or to Google Workspace accounts, and Google has not said how many people have enabled it so far.
