xAI links bank and investment accounts to Grok Bot

Developer accounts including @techdevnotes flagged the rollout hours earlier, saying Grok Bot now supports "any bank" rather than a fixed list of providers. Neither xAI nor Grok Bot's own post named which account-data providers the integration uses.
The launch is separate from Grok's existing finance tool on X, which added Plaid-based linking for US users earlier this month. Grok Bot, at x.ai/bot, is pitched by xAI as an "AI teammate" distinct from the Grok chatbot built into X.
xAI has not published how the new integration secures account credentials or which regions it covers. No outside reviewer has yet checked whether the feature could expose sensitive financial data.
