Ideogram says its 4.5 model edits one region and leaves the rest alone
Ideogram says 4.5 changes only what a user asks it to and outputs at native 2K, at $0.008 to $0.22 an image across four quality tiers.
Ideogram released Ideogram 4.5, an image model built for selective editing, on its platform and API on Thursday, The Decoder reported. The company says the model changes only the part of an image a user selects and leaves the rest intact, a problem that has plagued image editors, which tend to alter neighbouring areas.
Ideogram said the model only touches what the user tells it to, and that it limits artifacts, particularly after several edits in a row. It outputs at native 2K resolution. The company points to product photography, interior design, photo restoration and editing text inside images as the main uses.
Pricing runs across four quality tiers, from $0.008 to $0.22 per image, according to The Decoder. Ideogram named four partners: Picsart, Runway, Pika, Leonardo AI, as offering the model. An open-weight version is coming soon, the company said, without giving a date or licence terms in the material we reviewed.
The Decoder wrote that early testers confirm strong consistency across edits, but the article does not name them or give their results. The preservation claim is Ideogram's own. We have not run the model, and no independent comparison has been published against other editing models.
