Manus debuts Cascade agent architecture and Cue app
The Chinese AI startup says its new Cascade system cuts token use 23% and costs 32%, while its new Cue app gives personal agents their own phone number, wallet and computer.
Manus rolled out a rebuilt agent architecture called Cascade and a new personal-agent app called Cue on Monday, the AI startup said. The company said Cascade cut token use by 23%, sped up task completion by 28% and lowered operating costs by 32% in one tested configuration, compared with its previous system.
Cue lets a user's agents send messages, make payments within a set budget and complete tasks independently. Each agent gets its own email address, phone number, digital wallet and dedicated computer, Manus said. Users can assemble a "team" of several agents that coordinate over group chat, according to the company.
Manus 2.0 is available now on web, desktop and mobile. Cue is rolling out on the same platforms, with an iOS release pending Apple's App Store review. It is free during an early-access period that requires an invite code, the company said. Bloomberg separately reported the launch Monday.
The release also adds Cloud Computer, a paid always-on environment for persistent projects such as multiplayer games. It adds Automations, which triggers agent tasks from events in connected services including email, Slack and Notion, Manus said.
