Meta shows camera‑free audio glasses and $150 hearing aids at Connect

Meta showed unreleased audio-only smart glasses at its Connect conference this week, adding six microphones with no camera or recording capability alongside voice access to its Muse AI assistant, TechCrunch reported.
The camera-free design answers privacy complaints about Meta's existing camera-equipped glasses, according to TechCrunch. Users can talk to Muse through the glasses, which also support music and phone calls, and pick a custom avatar to represent the assistant.
Meta also showed hearing-assistance glasses priced at $150, undercutting typical hearing aids that TechCrunch said run about $1,600. The glasses switch between a focused mode that isolates one speaker and an omnidirectional mode for ambient sound. TechCrunch said the design followed five years of development and could help an estimated 50 million Americans with hearing loss.
Neither product has a release date. TechCrunch said smart glasses remain a niche category, but described Meta's Connect lineup as an attempt to make the devices "stylish, functional, and, most of all, useful."
