OpenAI lets ChatGPT Plus and Pro plans power 16 outside developer tools
Sign in with ChatGPT lets Plus and Pro subscribers spend their existing allowance in Devin, Notion, Vercel and 13 other partner tools, with per-partner limits.
OpenAI announced Sign in with ChatGPT at DevDay on Tuesday, letting Plus and Pro subscribers use their plan allowance inside third-party tools instead of buying a separate subscription. TechCrunch reports it launched with 16 partners, including Cognition's Devin, Notion, Vercel, T3, OpenClaw and Dactyl.
Other launch partners include OpenCode, Pi, Hyperagent, Hermes Agent, Vorflux, Amp, Kilo Code, Warp and Conductor, according to reports on the launch, with Lovable listed as coming soon. Eligible OpenAI usage in those tools counts against the user's existing ChatGPT limits, and users get controls over how much each partner can consume.
The New Stack describes the feature as a way to use a subscription in third-party developer tools. TechCrunch adds that OpenAI has not announced billing or revenue-sharing systems comparable to a traditional app store, so the economics for partners remain unclear.
OpenAI also launched an enterprise app marketplace with more than 30 initial partners, including Adobe, Figma, HubSpot, Salesforce and ServiceNow, per TechCrunch. Eligible customers can apply part of their OpenAI commitments to approved partner software. Independent reports of how the limits behave in practice have not appeared yet.
