Developers say Opus 5.5 unblocked work other models stalled on
One developer says the model finished a four-month TypeScript-to-Rust port in hours. Another says it turned a dry planning document into a video.
Theo, the developer behind t3.gg, said Friday that Claude Opus 5.5 finished a TypeScript-to-Rust port he had worked on "on and off" for four months, getting it working in 10 hours and then tuning its performance for a further 24. He said OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol and GPT-6 Astra had stalled at 35% and 85% of tests passing.

"I can not believe how quickly Opus unblocked the work Astra was stuck on," Theo wrote, adding he had never had "enough Anthropic tokens" to try a Claude model on the port before. His post had drawn 974 likes and 78 replies by Friday evening. Anthropic has not commented on the claim.
Separately, Hugging Face co-founder Thomas Wolf said Opus 5.5 turned a "dry" Google Doc, his brainstorm notes for the Open Alignment project, into a video when he asked it to. "Now I want one for every doc I've ever written," Wolf wrote Friday, posting the result alongside his message.

Anthropic shipped Opus 5.5 on Tuesday. Neither developer said what prompts they used, and Anthropic has not commented on either account. Both posts describe one person's own, unverified use of the model; nobody outside either project has checked the results.
