Firmus in talks over $10 billion for Indonesian data centre, Bloomberg says

The Australian company is negotiating with lenders on a financing deal to buy Nvidia chips, Bloomberg reported. Firmus has not commented publicly.

Firmus Technologies is in talks with lenders over a financing deal worth roughly $10 billion to buy Nvidia chips for its data centre in Indonesia, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday. The report describes talks rather than a signed agreement, and names no lender.

Two market wire accounts carried the report within the hour and described the company differently. FirstSquawk called Firmus "Nvidia-supported" and said it aims to raise the money "for AI chip development". financialjuice called the company "Nvidia-backed". Bloomberg's own wording says only that the financing would buy Nvidia chips.

The distinction matters and no account resolves it. A company buying Nvidia parts and a company Nvidia has invested in are different things, and the two wire posts assert the second without pointing to a stake or a figure. Nvidia has not said anything about Firmus in this material.

None of the three accounts gives terms, a closing date, or how much of the $10 billion would go on chips rather than on the site. Firmus did not comment in any of them, and the reporting rests on Bloomberg alone. The deal may not close on the terms described, or at all.
