Flow raises $50M at $750M to put AI agents on hardware design

The San Francisco startup says its agents check CAD drawings against requirements and test data. Anduril, Rivian and Joby Aviation are listed as customers, TechCrunch reported.

Flow Engineering, a three-year-old San Francisco startup, raised a $50 million Series B at a $750 million valuation, TechCrunch reported on 30 September. Valar Equity Partners, which Antonio Gracias co-leads, and Atreides Management, co-led by Gavin Baker, led the round. TechCrunch said the article carried no direct quotes from company representatives or investors.

Flow sells AI agents that, in TechCrunch's description, automatically align CAD drawings with product requirements, simulation results and other testing. The idea is to catch mismatches between a design and the specification it must meet before a part is built. TechCrunch did not report how the agents work or how accurate they are, so those claims are untested.

The company lists Anduril, Rivian, Joby Aviation, General Motors and others as clients, according to TechCrunch. Other names reported include RV Tech, the Rivian-Volkswagen joint venture, and Stoke Space. Sequoia Capital, which led the Series A in October 2025, also took part, and former Sequoia partner Roelof Botha joined as an investor and board member.

TechCrunch noted that Valar is best known for its investments in Elon Musk's companies, including SpaceX, and that Atreides has backed Musk's companies and AI chipmaker Cerebras. The report did not give revenue, growth figures, headcount or how Flow will spend the money. TechCrunch is the only outlet we found carrying the story so far.
