SpaceXAI releases Grok 4.7, says it runs twice as fast

The company put the price at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens. The speed claim is its own.

SpaceXAI released Grok 4.7 on Monday at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens, according to Techmeme and three market accounts. The company said the model runs twice as fast as comparable models at half the price.

Techmeme, summarising xAI, said Grok 4.7 is better at verifying its own work and at managing longer context. DeItaone put the model at twice the speed of comparable models at half the price. FirstSquawk and financialjuice carried the same pricing, and none of the accounts named the models the comparison uses.

The speed and price comparison is the company's own, and the accounts carrying it did not describe the tests behind it. No independent benchmark of Grok 4.7 appeared on Monday morning in the accounts the paper monitors. A post from xAI itself was not among them either.

Kol Tregaskes, who tracks model releases, posted only that Grok 4.7 was out, without figures. PolymarketMoney attributed the release to Elon Musk's SpaceXAI and repeated the twice-as-fast claim. None of the accounts said when the model reaches the consumer app, or which subscription tier it may require.
