Manus seeks $4 billion valuation months after Beijing blocked Meta deal

The round is not closed and terms may change. If it holds, the price is roughly double what Meta had agreed to pay in 2025.

Manus is in talks to raise $500 million at a valuation of about $4 billion, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday. The round has not closed and the terms may still move. If it holds, it would make the company China's most valuable autonomous agent startup.

The figure is roughly twice the $2 billion Meta agreed to pay for the company in December 2025. That acquisition was unwound in April, when China's National Development and Reform Commission blocked it on national security grounds.

An attempt to move the company's headquarters from Beijing to Singapore was also thwarted, according to the reporting. The new round would confirm Manus as a standalone Chinese company rather than a foreign subsidiary, which is the outcome regulators appear to have wanted.

IDG Capital and Boyu Capital are among the prospective investors, alongside the battery maker Contemporary Amperex Technology. Existing backers Tencent, HSG and ZhenFund are said to be weighing participation. None of the firms has confirmed involvement publicly.

A Hong Kong listing has been reported as a possible later step. Bloomberg, TechCrunch and Quartz carried the story. The valuation is what investors are discussing rather than what anyone has paid, and a round that does not close sets no price at all.
