Meta's Muse tops ChatGPT's first 12 days on mobile, TechCrunch says

Meta's Muse agent drew about 1.8 million iOS downloads in the US and Canada in its first 12 days, against 1.3 million for ChatGPT over the same period, TechCrunch reported Monday. The figures are third-party estimates, and Meta has not published its own.
CNBC said Muse has drawn more post-launch downloads than ChatGPT, Grok or Claude, and Bloomberg said the agent has risen to the top of the mobile app charts. Neither account gave a figure. TechCrunch said it had asked Meta for comment and that Meta has not shared public numbers on Muse's early adoption.
The daily-user comparison is wider than the download one. TechCrunch put Muse at about 642,000 daily active users in the US against 231,000 for ChatGPT at the comparable point, and at 2.8 million installs worldwide across platforms. Those counts cover 12 days, a window short enough that early curiosity may account for much of the gap.
The estimating firm is not named the same way twice. TechCrunch's feed summary credits Appfigures, while the article credits Apptopia, and neither firm sees Meta's internal data. TechCrunch said the numbers are ballpark, and that even at that level they suggest Muse could become one of Meta's larger apps.
