Nvidia opens DSX Ready programme to qualify AI datacentre power gear
The company said the programme starts with battery storage and cooling units, and two accounts said Tesla's Megapack is among the first products qualified.
Nvidia has launched DSX Ready, a qualification programme for partner power and cooling products that meet its DSX AI factory reference design requirements, the company said in a blog post on Monday. Nvidia said the programme opens with two categories of product.
Those categories are battery energy storage systems and cooling distribution units, Nvidia said. The company said category-specific requirements and review are meant to help builders evaluate products and reduce integration risk. That description of the benefit is Nvidia's own.
SawyerMerritt said Tesla's Megapack has been qualified for use under the programme, and quoted the Nvidia text at length. StockSavvyShay said the same, describing the effect as putting Tesla storage into the approved stack for new deployments.
StockSavvyShay also said Nvidia requires battery partners to show a path to ten times their power-conversion capacity within 24 months. That requirement does not appear in the Nvidia text quoted by the other account, and Nvidia has not confirmed it in the material gathered here.
