Trump says AI fears are a hoax, backs existing law enforcement
The president said the United States leads China in artificial intelligence and that he will not stifle its growth, in a post on Truth Social.
President Trump said warnings that artificial intelligence will kill people are "more of a Hoax" than earlier claims he has dismissed, in a Truth Social post that market accounts carried on Monday. He said he would only encourage the technology.
Several accounts carried the same lines. DeItaone and StockMKTNewz each quoted "Whoever wins AI, WINS" and the claim that the United States leads China. clashreport and BullTheoryio posted the same passage. FirstSquawk carried a longer one in which Trump compared the AI warnings to earlier warnings about global warming.
Trump said he would not stifle growth in a technology that he said could be bigger than the Industrial Revolution or the internet. He said the Department of Justice and other law enforcement bodies would rein things in if they have to. zerohedge said he repeated that current law enforcement is enough for policing AI.
The post carries no policy. None of the accounts reported a new order, rule or appointment alongside it, and none pointed to a White House document. Cointelegraph and MarioNawfal summarised the post rather than adding reporting of their own, and Kalshi and Polymarket, which run markets on political events, carried single lines from it.
