TSMC to start A14 trial production in early 2027, newspaper says
Commercial Times, citing chip-design houses, said the A14 CyberShuttle ran in the second quarter of 2026, while TSMC's two prior nodes are still ramping.
Trial production of TSMC's A14 process is due in the first quarter of 2027 at Fab 20 in Hsinchu Baoshan, the Taiwanese newspaper Commercial Times reported, citing chip-design houses. The account SemiconductorsX relayed the report on X on Tuesday.
The volume site is Taichung Fab 25, according to the report. The report puts completion there before the second quarter of 2027, with trial runs to follow. TSMC has not published a schedule for A14, and the newspaper attributes the dates to design houses rather than to the company.
The A14 CyberShuttle already ran in the second quarter of 2026, the report said. That puts the shuttle run three quarters ahead of the trial production date. The report does not say which customers may have taken part.
The story rests on one Taiwanese newspaper, relayed by one account on X, and no second outlet has carried the same dates. The report as relayed carries no comment from TSMC, and the company has not confirmed the fab assignments.
