Finnish AI cloud Verda raises $189 million led by Emergence Capital
The Helsinki company said the round values it at more than $1 billion and brings total funding above $450 million across equity and debt.
Verda, a Finnish cloud company that rents out GPU capacity, has raised $189 million in a round led by Emergence Capital, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday. The company said the financing values it at $1 billion or more, and declined to give an exact figure.
MUFG Innovation Partners, Super Micro Computer, Varma Mutual Pension Insurance and Lifeline Ventures also took part, according to Bloomberg. Verda said the round was oversubscribed and brings its total funding past $450 million across equity and debt. Those figures are the company's own.
The company started in 2020 as DataCrunch and took the Verda name late in 2025. It said it is cash-flow positive on a revenue run rate above $60 million. Bloomberg attributed both of those figures to Verda rather than to a filing.
Verda positions itself as a European alternative to Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, and says it runs its own data centres and networking. That positioning is the company's, and Bloomberg did not report independent figures on its capacity or its customers.
